If you’ve read my other blog about Houzz.com, you don’t have to ask to know why I’m also a Zillow addict. Yes, I spend an obscene amount of time window shopping houses I will never own. Well, some day, maybe I’ll own something like them, but probably not those exact ones that I have saved on my Zillow profile. And certainly not every single one of the 100 or so houses I have saved!
I actually rank cities I like to live in based on the type of houses they offer. See my other post about how I pick best cities to live in. The best area by far in terms of bang for your buck on houses, yard, climate and schools, in my opinion, are the northern suburbs of Greater Atlanta, GA, including Alpharetta, Roswell, Marietta, Norcross, Johns Creek and Milton.
One day, I’d like to own a contemporary-styled house, or updated mid-century modern. Here are some pictures of the type of houses I love. What does your dream home look like?
This one is quite geometric, which I like. And I love the integration of indoor-outdoor living spaces.
This house is from Perth, Australia, where I lived for 6 months. These rooflines are very common in Perth homes.
You can tell from below picture that the floor plan is very open, with again, the seamless integration between indoor and outdoor living.
Geometry again with lots of glass!
So bright and airy, surrounded by nature but insulated from it at the same time. Reminds me of where the vampires lived in the movie Twilight.

A bit about myself:
I’ve been writing stories since the age of six, and novels since the age of thirteen. Can’t say that those early efforts were particularly good, but I sure loved putting them down on paper! And whether I document them or not, stories are forever forming and expanding and interconnecting in my head.
The best part is–it’s completely organic, the way the stories develop. When the inspiration hits, I write just so I myself can learn where the characters are headed because oftentimes, they take me by surprise! It is my ultimate dream to become a best-selling novelist one day and share my stories with as many readers as I possibly can.
My other loves include art, cooking, old movies (anything with Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Robert Redford, Vivien Leigh, Elizabeth Taylor, Paul Newman, Clark Gable, and all the song and dance numbers because you can’t watch them and not be happy!)
I adore taking long walks with my husband and running after my two rambunctious kids. I have traveled extensively (all seven continents except Antarctica) and have a multi-cultural upbringing. I speak two and a half languages and binge watch TV shows when the mood strikes.
